Associate Director, Clinical Research Operations (Oncology)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with 2–3 onsite days per week. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during key operational periods.

Salary: $129,500–$150,200 per year.

What you will do

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Radiation Oncology clinical research program across the main campus and affiliated network sites.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, quality assurance, protocol operations, financial stewardship, and continuous process improvement.
• Develop clinical trial portfolios by driving feasibility, study activation, enrollment, recruitment, retention, technology implementation, and growth initiatives.
• Build partnerships with investigators, industry sponsors, affiliate hospitals, research networks, and institutional stakeholders.
• Align network and affiliate research programs, including contract coordination, regulatory readiness, and consistent operating standards.
• Lead organizational design, hiring, performance management, professional development, succession planning, and staff supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in science, public health, healthcare administration, or nursing required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 6 years of clinical research experience, including 4 or more years directly supervising staff.
• Extensive healthcare research, compliance, auditing, investigation, and standards-monitoring experience.
• Experience with IND/IDE filings required.
• Expertise in FDA, OHRP, GCP, IRB, Medicare NCD, sponsor, institutional, and research financial compliance requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of oncology clinical research operations, budgeting, clinical trial lifecycle management, and multi-site program leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
