TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Go): Building and optimizing scalable, high-performance back-end systems for Ticketure’s mobile-first ticketing platform with an accent on production-quality Go development, MySQL and Elasticsearch, and cloud deployment. Focus on solving complex technical problems, balancing business continuity with roadmap delivery, supporting client-facing issue resolution, and mentoring engineers.
Location: Remote within New Zealand, with quarterly meet-ups in Wellington

Ticketure builds ticketing and CRM software for museums, zoos, aquariums, gardens, science centers, performing arts organizations, and other cultural attractions.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and optimize back-end systems for the Ticketure ticketing platform.
- Own complex technical problems and projects from requirements analysis through production delivery.
- Take responsibility for technical tasks involving other engineers and maintain engineering quality standards.
- Work with client-facing, engineering, product, and design teams to resolve issues and meet client expectations.
- Support contractual SLAs, including short-notice response to outages that prevent clients from selling tickets.
- Mentor engineers and improve technical practices across the team.
Requirements
- Four or more years of back-end development experience building scalable, high-performance systems.
- Hands-on production experience with Go.
- Production experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch.
- Experience deploying and maintaining systems in a cloud environment; AWS is preferred.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript and Vue.js.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, work independently, and manage multiple projects.
