Tech Lead (C#/.NET)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; hybrid work with the option to work from home 2 days a week. Full working rights for New Zealand are required.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 5–8 engineers delivering meaningful customer-facing features.
• Design and deliver robust features using C# and .NET.
• Guide technical decisions, architecture, trade-offs, and team delivery direction.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers on delivery priorities.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and strengthen engineering quality.
• Identify risks early and promote strong practices across design, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to reason about complex systems.
• Experience providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on with engineering work.
• Ability to guide feature development, balance delivery momentum with maintainability, and mentor engineers.
• Experience with or understanding of software architecture, testing, deployment, and distributed systems.
• Full working rights for New Zealand.

Nice to have

• Experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, NodeJS, React, Entity Framework, or other ORMs.
• Experience with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, REST APIs, GraphQL, RabbitMQ, SQS, Kinesis, or AWS.
• Experience with microservices, observability using OTel, or AI services such as Claude, Bedrock, and Langfuse.
