Staff Software Engineer (Distributed Systems)

Location: Remote-first within Argentina, with optional access to Buenos Aires offices or partner coworking spaces up to twice a week.

What you will do

• Set architectural direction and technical strategy for complex, large-scale platforms and products.
• Break ambiguous problems into clear technical scopes and design simple, maintainable systems with well-defined interfaces.
• Establish engineering standards, own technical trade-offs, and improve software, product, and data quality across domains.
• Influence technical alignment across teams and advise management on project strategy and engineering organization.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead interviews for senior and principal technical roles.
• Solve systemic challenges involving high concurrency, complex data consistency, and decoupling mission-critical systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience leading high-volume, high-concurrency, mission-critical distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of modern software architecture, distributed data consistency, fault tolerance, and system optimization.
• Ability to analyze engineering trade-offs, build strategic roadmaps, and work across team boundaries.
• Experience designing maintainable systems that scale with teams and products.
• Fluency in Spanish and excellent English skills are mandatory.
