What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure for a multi-tenant SaaS hosting platform using Terraform.
- Develop Puppet modules and Python automation for fleets of EC2 instances and platform operations.
- Operate distributed service discovery and configuration management with etcd.
- Manage multi-tier caching with Varnish, Redis or Valkey, and PHP OPcache.
- Run and scale observability systems including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Fluentd, and PagerDuty.
- Improve deployment workflows, participate in incident response and on-call rotations, and drive platform reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Strong production experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, ALB, ElastiCache, Route 53, IAM, and VPC networking.
- Proficiency with Terraform and Puppet modules for production infrastructure and fleet management.
- Solid Python skills for maintaining production daemons and automation tooling.
- Deep Linux systems knowledge, including Ubuntu, Apache or Nginx, PHP-FPM, Varnish, systemd, filesystems, and networking.
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consensus, leader election, distributed locking, and eventual consistency.
- Experience with production observability pipelines and GitLab-based CI/CD workflows, plus the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience with distributed storage systems such as Ceph, GlusterFS, JuiceFS, CubeFS, or AWS EFS.
- Familiarity with etcd, Consul, or ZooKeeper, including watch APIs, TTL-based locking, and cluster operations.
- Experience with Varnish and VCL, PHP integration scripts, multi-tenant SaaS design, or Moodle LMS.
- Experience with secrets management, automated credential rotation, and zero-downtime deployments for non-containerized environments.
