Senior Payments QA Engineer (Banking and Payment Systems)

Location: Porto, Portugal; hybrid work with up to 2 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the European Union.

The role supports a client providing banking and payment solutions.

What you will do

• Analyze business needs and draft functional requirements and specifications.
• Contribute to pre-project scoping and define testing strategies aligned with project goals.
• Participate in functional workshops with business teams.
• Design and execute UAT test plans and validate deliverables against business expectations.
• Identify, analyze, and track production anomalies and testing gaps.
• Manage test campaigns, execution, and traceability using Jira and Xray.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in applicative homologation and QA testing within banking, payments, or monétique systems.
• Experience drafting test plans, executing UAT, and analyzing functional specifications.
• Proficiency with Jira and Xray for test management and traceability.
• Strong communication skills and an analytical mindset, with experience leading functional workshops.
• Fluent English and French at minimum B2 level are required for daily collaboration with French-speaking business units.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union is required.

• Testing or quality assurance certifications.
• Knowledge of banking or payment industry standards and regulations.
