Senior Backend Engineer (Billing)

Location: Prague, Czech Republic; on-site four days per week with one work-from-home day

Salary: €80,000–€120,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is a fast-growing Series A startup building the Agent Cloud and infrastructure for AI labs and consumer and enterprise AI agents.

What you will do

• Own and redesign billing services end to end, including usage metering, charge calculation, invoicing, payments, and billing data models.
• Own the Stripe integration, including subscriptions, Billing Meters, and enterprise invoicing edge cases.
• Build billing automation for failed-payment recovery, collections, proration, plan changes, credits, refunds, and disputes.
• Work with Core, Platform, and Dashboard engineers to define and provide the data contracts required for billing.
• Partner with finance on payment reconciliation, revenue reporting, and audit readiness.
• Make architectural decisions related to observability, testing, and security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with billing systems and deep expertise in Go.
• Experience with metric collection, metered usage, pay-as-you-go models, billing cycles, charging logic, collections, and billing automation.
• Strong API design skills, including REST or RPC, contracts, and versioning.
• Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, migrations, and reasoning about data at scale.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, server-side performance, and real-time data flows using WebSockets or SSE.
• Ability to own complex systems independently and communicate effectively with engineering and finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex invoicing, SKUs, usage-based or contract-based billing, and third-party payment platforms.
