TL;DR
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (FedRAMP) (AWS/Kubernetes/Cybersecurity): Building and operating the AWS GovCloud infrastructure for a FedRAMP-authorized environment with an accent on reliability, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and continuous compliance. Focus on automating deployments and evidence collection, managing NIST and FedRAMP controls, and troubleshooting the full stack under regulated operational requirements.

Location: United States; all work must be performed from within the United States. US citizenship or lawful permanent residency and the ability to pass applicable background investigations are required.

Salary: $155,584–$199,012 base pay per year.

What you will do

  • Own the availability, performance, security posture, and continuous compliance of the FedRAMP-authorized environment.
  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and services within the AWS GovCloud authorization boundary.
  • Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, monthly scanning, POA&Ms, deviation requests, and compliance evidence.
  • Control deployments and configuration changes according to approved Configuration Management and Significant Change Request procedures.
  • Maintain CIS/STIG hardening and FIPS-validated cryptography requirements while automating operational activities.
  • Troubleshoot network, operating system, and application issues; support audits, incident analysis, agency reporting, and periodic on-call duties.

Requirements

  • US citizenship or lawful permanent residency; work performed within the United States; ability to pass applicable background investigations.
  • Professional experience as an SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Engineer in FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD IL, or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls and the FedRAMP continuous monitoring process.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS, vulnerability management tooling, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Go.
  • Ability to work autonomously and communicate asynchronously with a team operating in Central European Time.

Nice to have

  • Experience preparing for or maintaining a FedRAMP Authorization to Operate, including SSP contributions and control narratives.
  • Experience with STIG/CIS hardening automation, SIEM or log aggregation, and federal audit-log retention.
  • Experience working with 3PAOs, agency ISSOs/ISSMs, or the FedRAMP PMO.
  • AWS, CISSP, Security+, or CKA certification.
