What you will do

• Undertake a clearly defined research project in musicology for up to one academic year.
• Contribute to the scholarly life of Queensland Conservatorium through research engagement activities.
• Produce research outcomes aligned with the Fellowship objectives.
• Complete reasonable reporting requirements associated with the award.
• Acknowledge the Fellowship in resulting publications and scholarly outputs.

Requirements

• Hold a doctoral qualification relevant to musicology.
• Demonstrate a strong research track record appropriate to career stage.
• Submit a high-quality research proposal aligned with the Fellowship objectives.
• Demonstrate potential to make a significant contribution to musicological scholarship.
• Show the capacity to complete the proposed project within the Fellowship period.
• Identify primarily as a musicologist or ethnomusicologist and demonstrate familiarity with innovative interdisciplinary methods.

Nice to have

• Experience applying methods from the humanities, social sciences, sciences, critical theory, philosophy, disability studies, postcolonial thought, or media studies.

Culture & Benefits

• The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of AUD 40,000 for up to one academic year.
• Up to AUD 10,000 is available for approved research-related expenses.
• Access is provided to an email address and the Conservatorium's library facilities.
• Shared desk space is available in the Conservatorium's Research Hub.
• This is a competitive research award and not a salaried employment position.
