Senior Trade Settlement Specialist (Energy Trading)

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands; candidates must currently live in the Netherlands

Salary: €71,000–€100,000 gross annual salary, including FlexBudget and 8% holiday allowance

What you will do

• Ensure accurate and timely settlement of complex energy flows, including transactions for batteries, solar farms, wind farms, certificates, balancing activities, and flexibility products.
• Design settlement models and translate contractual agreements into clear calculation rules for invoicing.
• Automate complex financial settlements using data, AI, and Databricks.
• Combine data from multiple sources and build dashboards, data validations, and control mechanisms to identify data-quality issues.
• Collaborate with Sales and other stakeholders on new assets, energy products, and contract types.
• Explain settlement outcomes and calculation methods to customers and internal stakeholders while coaching colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s level working and thinking skills gained through education or relevant professional experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience in financial operations, settlements, invoicing, energy trading, or a comparable back-office environment.
• Experience automating complex financial or operational processes.
• Comfort working with data, databases, tables, and analytical tools such as Databricks.
• Clear English communication; Dutch is an advantage.
• Currently living in the Netherlands. Ownership, prioritization, stakeholder communication, knowledge sharing, and coaching skills are required.

• Experience in the energy sector.
• Relevant senior-level experience automating financial processes in another industry.
• Dutch language skills.
