Scientific Assistant (Biosciences)

Location: Brisbane South (Nathan), Australia; primarily campus-based, with work-from-home options and possible work across other hirify.global locations.

Salary: AUD 67,146.54–74,224.69 base range plus 17% superannuation; full package range AUD 78,561.45–86,842.88.

What you will do

• Coordinate the setup, delivery, and pack-down of teaching laboratory practicals.
• Prepare equipment, consumables, chemicals, and samples for student experiments.
• Provide in-class laboratory support and maintain clean, organised laboratory spaces.
• Supervise and support the Laboratory Attendant during laboratory operations.
• Maintain risk assessments, standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, inventory records, and procurement activities.
• Support equipment maintenance, fieldwork, outreach activities, and compliance with health, safety, and University policies.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualifications up to Certificate level with subsequent relevant practical experience, or equivalent qualifications and relevant training.
• Practical knowledge of laboratory operations and support for teaching or research activities.
• Current knowledge of good workplace health and safety practices is favourable.
• Ability to work primarily at the Nathan campus in Brisbane and across other hirify.global locations when required.
