Data Engineer (Stores/Customer Order) (Retail)

Location: Based in or near Kraków, Poland; hybrid work with 60% of the week at office locations or local sites and the remainder remotely.

Salary: 20,000–26,000 PLN gross per month under a permanent contract, with IP tax-deductible expenses available.

What you will do

• Create and maintain scalable data pipeline architecture for customer orders, suppliers, products, and delivery operations.
• Assemble complex datasets and build infrastructure for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources.
• Automate manual processes, improve data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Build analytics tools that provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and business performance.
• Support product, data, design, analytics, and data science stakeholders with data infrastructure and technical issues.
• Maintain data separation and security while improving the functionality of data systems.

Requirements

• Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and data systems.
• Data processing with Apache Spark using Scala or Python.
• Experience with Apache HDFS, CEPH S3, or a comparable cloud alternative.
• Knowledge of Apache YARN or a comparable cloud resource manager.
• Experience with Apache Hive/Kyuubi or an equivalent lakehouse solution.
• Experience with Airflow or an equivalent workflow scheduler.

Nice to have

• Functional programming experience.
• Apache Kafka and stream processing.
• Kubernetes.
