Director, Publications (Biotechnology)

Location: Sleepy Hollow, NY or Warren, NJ; on-site four days per week. Travel to Sleepy Hollow is expected when based in Warren, NJ.

Salary: $183,100–$305,200 annually

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional and alliance-wide publication teams and review annual publication plans with senior management.
• Define literature and gap-analysis terms and build scientific communication platforms and publication strategies.
• Develop and evolve publication plans and medical communication strategies for assigned therapeutic assets.
• Select and manage external agencies, writers, publication vendors, scopes of work, budgets, and invoices.
• Coordinate authors, invitations, agreements, kick-off meetings, scientific content, and publication timelines.
• Review publications for scientific quality, ethical reporting, regulatory compliance, disclosures, and operational risks.

Requirements

• Doctorate scientific degree required: PhD, PharmD, or MD.
• 7+ years of experience in medical communications or publications management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• At least 3 years of independently leading cross-functional, therapeutic-area-specific publication plans.
• Experience managing complex, multi-asset publication plans, ideally in oncology, ophthalmology, hematology, or rare diseases.
• Experience managing external agencies and publication vendors, including budget oversight and scope-of-work management.
• On-site work four days per week in Sleepy Hollow, NY or Warren, NJ; travel to Sleepy Hollow is required from Warren.
