Staff Application Engineer - Enterprise Data & AI (Intelligence Platform)

What you will do

• Build and operate production data pipelines in Databricks using bronze, silver, and gold medallion layers.
• Define domain, ontology, and semantic models in Unity Catalog with subject-matter experts.
• Implement data quality tests, monitoring, alerting, lineage, provenance, access controls, and auditability.
• Integrate enterprise systems through APIs, events, and middleware with authentication, retries, and reconciliation.
• Build production agents and retrieval-augmented applications using Unity Catalog functions, Mosaic AI, and model serving.
• Own architecture, testing, CI/CD, documentation, production support, and observability for data and AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, application engineering, or a related enterprise technology role.
• Hands-on experience with production data pipelines, semantic or domain modeling, data quality, and lineage.
• Hands-on Databricks experience, including Unity Catalog, medallion architecture, and Mosaic AI or model serving.
• Production experience with AI solutions such as retrieval-augmented, conversational, or agentic applications.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, including testing, code review, CI/CD, deployment, integrations, governance, privacy, and security.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Mosaic AI Agent Framework, Unity Catalog functions, enterprise search, vector databases, or permission-aware retrieval.
• Experience with LangGraph, Pydantic AI, LangChain, CrewAI, MLflow tracing, dimensional modeling, or master data management.
• Experience integrating Workday, ServiceNow, Coupa, Concur, Oracle, OneStream, or Ironclad.
• Experience with GCP or AWS data services, dbt, containers, or serverless computing.
