Quantum Hardware Architect (AI)

What you will do

• Develop theoretical and numerical models of qubit devices and physical-layer processes to guide processor design.
• Design and evaluate system architectures under hardware-specific constraints and noise models.
• Translate device-level physics into architecture-level requirements and specifications.
• Build simulation and modeling tools for system design, performance analysis, and roadmap planning.
• Collaborate directly with the hardware team to validate models and inform device design.
• Lead high-impact research projects within a multidisciplinary team of physicists and engineers.

Requirements

• PhD in physics, applied physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
• 5–10 years of experience in the theory and modeling of quantum computing hardware.
• Proven track record of publications in quantum device physics or architecture.
• Strong programming skills in a scientific computing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work onsite in Copenhagen.

Nice to have

• Experience translating R&D into commercial products or roadmap milestones.
• Experience with modeling multiple or heterogeneous qubit platforms.
• Familiarity with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architecture.
• Experience bridging theory and experiment on real quantum hardware.
