Trade Surveillance Analyst (Financial Markets)

What you will do

• Operate the trade surveillance programme end to end, triaging and documenting alerts across asset classes and escalating potential market abuse.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on market manipulation, insider trading, position disclosures, position limits, and post-trade control exceptions.
• Improve surveillance coverage by calibrating thresholds, reducing false positives, closing coverage gaps, and designing control enhancements.
• Act as the compliance interface for trading and surveillance systems, specifying system changes and investigating how data generates alerts.
• Implement process improvements and automation across large, multi-system datasets, including AI-assisted compliance workflows.
• Manage stakeholders across Compliance, Compliance Technology, Trading, Investment, Operations, Legal, and regional teams; support regulatory and issuer responses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of trade surveillance experience covering market abuse typologies across multiple asset classes.
• Strong knowledge of global financial regulations, compliance requirements, and financial products including equities, equity derivatives, and fixed income.
• Experience with an established trade surveillance platform, including alert generation, data sourcing, configuration, and programme ownership beyond alert triage.
• Strong Excel skills, experience managing large datasets, meticulous attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to cover global markets and ability to diagnose issues independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Query or scripting experience with SQL or Python for monitoring or reporting.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their application in business settings.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or ACAMS.
• Experience with statistics, data analytics, visualization tools, global financial institutions, or regulatory bodies.
