Commercial Analyst (Data Centres and Industrials)

What you will do

• Own project models covering generation, battery energy storage, flexible load, network costs, capital expenditure, operating expenditure, revenue stacks, IRR, and downside scenarios.
• Build pricing strategies and convert customer load profiles and reliability requirements into tariffs, PPAs, tolling structures, or availability-based offers.
• Value storage and flexible load across wholesale markets, the Balancing Mechanism, ancillary services, and the Capacity Market.
• Quantify network charges, curtailment, and connection options, and prepare business cases and presentations for customer proposals and final investment decisions.
• Track live projects against approved cases, including spend, milestones, and connection dates, while assessing regulatory and network-charging changes.
• Support term sheets and due diligence from indicative proposals through signing.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a numerate commercial role, such as infrastructure or renewable energy development, project finance, banking, energy trading or origination, strategy, or energy consultancy.
• Strong financial modelling skills, including DCF, IRR, scenarios, and sensitivities.
• Advanced knowledge of GB and European power markets, network costs, and connection costs.
• Advanced Excel and Python skills.
• Ability to turn incomplete and complex problems into clear recommendations.
• Quantitative degree in economics, engineering, finance, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience.
