Senior Python Backend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote; collaboration during Europe's timezones

Salary: $6,000–$8,500/month gross

What you will do

• Collaborate with founders and frontend, UX, and core team members in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Build and ship small and midsized backend features with minimal guidance, and contribute to larger projects.
• Improve product quality, security, performance, coding standards, and maintainability.
• Review code and identify, prioritize, and resolve technical debt.
• Own projects from proposal and discussion through execution and production delivery.
• Represent Collectly and its values in public communication about specific projects.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience with Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Celery.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures, including a basic level of proficiency.
• Understanding of race conditions and concurrent code design.
• Experience diagnosing and preventing performance and SQL optimization problems.
• Clear written and verbal English communication for a remote, largely asynchronous environment.
• Experience with GitLab, agile development, project ownership, and long-term organizational integration.
