DevOps Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Ghent, Belgium, with around 3 days per week working from the office

What you will do

• Maintain AKS and Kubernetes clusters, including node upgrades, version upgrades, and general platform maintenance.
• Maintain Helm charts and monitor upstream changes affecting deployments.
• Monitor clusters and workloads, respond to alerts, and own incidents from investigation through prevention.
• Manage secrets, certificates, access controls, and infrastructure security hardening.
• Automate repetitive operational work and support GitLab pipelines, ArgoCD, and Argo Workflows.
• Collaborate with the Platform Engineer on the internal developer portal and tools used by engineering.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Linux and Bash, with confidence working in the terminal and scripting repetitive tasks.
• Practical Kubernetes experience, including troubleshooting nodes, RBAC, networking, and misbehaving workloads.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, load balancers, reverse proxies, and web servers.
• Curiosity, calmness under pressure, and an ownership mindset focused on resolving incidents and preventing recurrence.
• Availability for hybrid work in Ghent, Belgium, with approximately 3 office days per week.

Nice to have

• Azure or AKS, GitLab CI/CD, Helm, ArgoCD, or GitOps experience.
• Crossplane, Terraform, Kustomize, or other infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Argo Workflows or another workflow orchestrator.
• Prometheus, Grafana, Golang, or Google Cloud experience.
