TL;DR
Scala Developer (iGaming) (Scala/Akka): Building and optimizing a highly accessible, multi-tenant, scalable, distributed, event-driven gaming platform with an accent on high-throughput server-side development, complex integrations, and platform scalability. Focus on designing concurrent services, improving distributed-system performance, and supporting nearly a billion transactions per day across hot and cold storage.
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

What you will do
- Design, develop, refactor, support, and review Scala software.
- Collaborate with platform teams to deliver features for the GPAS product.
- Optimize the platform for maximum throughput, scalability, and reliability.
- Work independently, take ownership of solutions, and improve systems and processes.
- Document solutions and share knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing server-side applications in Scala.
- Strong knowledge of Scala, preferably Scala 3, and SBT.
- Experience with Pekko or Akka, including HTTP, Actors, Cluster, Persistence, Streams, and connectors.
- Strong understanding of the JVM, data structures, algorithms, parallel programming, and concurrency.
- Experience building high-scale distributed systems with complex interfaces and integrations.
- Clear and effective communication in English is required.
Nice to have
- iGaming experience and familiarity with Typesafe Config.
- Experience with Couchbase or another document-based NoSQL database.
- Experience with AWS S3, DynamoDB, Play JSON, or ScalaTest.
- Experience with Docker, Nomad, Kubernetes, or Linux environments.
