Software Engineer (Python/C++)

Location: Beijing, China; onsite role associated with customer-site and equipment work

What you will do

• Act as a software expert for software and computer-related diagnostics on customer e-beam machines.
• Analyze Field team feedback, machine symptoms, logs, communication traces, and diagnostic data to identify root causes.
• Develop diagnostic and automation tools for log collection, system health checks, issue reproduction, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Build internal module test software for communication, test execution, result analysis, and validation workflows.
• Contribute to module communication interfaces, image processing workflows, image algorithm validation, backend components, and integration software.
• Collaborate with Field teams, equipment specialists, architects, product owners, and software teams to deliver maintainable solutions and resolve customer-impacting issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of professional software development experience, preferably in equipment, diagnostics, automation, test software, or engineering tools.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with Python and C++.
• Experience with a GUI framework or library such as Qt, PySide, WinForms, or WPF.
• Knowledge of image algorithms, image processing, operating systems, networking, device communication, and equipment integration troubleshooting.
• Experience with interfaces such as RS232, Ethernet, or PCIe, plus basic understanding of Windows and Linux driver concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience in equipment diagnostics, automation, test software, or engineering tool development.
• Exposure to image algorithm validation and module communication software.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows for engineering software or internal tools.
• Interest in AI-assisted development, open-source technologies, and new engineering practices.
