TL;DR
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator (MEL, New Colombo Plan): Coordinating the annual MEL Plan and developing reports, data insights, and evidence for the New Colombo Plan with an accent on quantitative and qualitative methods, performance reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Focus on analyzing multi-source program data, improving reporting processes, facilitating reflection sessions, and translating results into a whole-of-program story.

Location: Adelaide or Brisbane preferred; locally engaged role requiring existing working and living rights in Australia

Contract: 0.5 FTE job-share arrangement until 30 June 2027.

What you will do

  • Coordinate implementation of the annual Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan in line with the NCP Results Framework.
  • Prepare and present MEL reports, insights, discussion papers, and other reporting products.
  • Support DFAT corporate performance reporting, including Performance Measure 2 and related guidance.
  • Provide accurate program data from multiple sources using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Facilitate program reflection sessions, apply lessons learned, and improve MEL delivery.
  • Build MEL capability across the Program Support Unit and collaborate with DFAT, NCS, AAGSM, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in monitoring and evaluation, social science research, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience using quantitative and qualitative MEL methods.
  • Strong reporting, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Qualtrics and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a moderate level of autonomy.
  • Existing working and living rights in Australia are required for this locally engaged role.
