Contracts Specialist

What you will do

• Provide expert contract advice to internal and external stakeholders on complex or ambiguous contractual matters.
• Own contractual matters end to end, including drafting documentation, alternative wordings, negotiations, product development, and training.
• Build relationships with external contacts and negotiate directly with clients when delegated.
• Translate contractual positions into clear business implications for clients, operations, risk, and reinsurance transactions.
• Advise senior stakeholders and contribute to governance, risk, control, regional, and global contracting initiatives.
• Use technology, automation, and AI responsibly to improve contracting efficiency, quality, and processes.

Requirements

• Legal background or training, familiarity with reinsurance contract provisions, and preferably a law degree.
• Fluent English is required.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in legal and/or contract law.
• Ability to analyse complex reinsurance wordings and provide clear, well-reasoned recommendations.
• Understanding of Life and Health products, risks, controls, governance, claims, reinsurance administration, underwriting, or actuarial processes is highly valued.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, communicate clearly, and share expertise through training and knowledge transfer.

Nice to have

• Portuguese language skills.
• Experience with Life and Health reinsurance products and business processes.
• Digital agility and confidence using technology and AI for professional work.
