Software Engineer (Agentic Infrastructure)

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $196,000–$294,000 base pay per year; compensation may be adjusted based on employee location outside San Francisco.

What you will do

• Own and evolve infrastructure for the build and deployment lifecycle, including webhooks, database schemas, and scalable APIs.
• Design and operate high-performance microservices processing millions of builds daily.
• Lead projects from opportunity identification and technical direction through production delivery.
• Improve performance, reliability, security, and developer and agent workflows across the platform.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and contribute to open-source developer tools.
• Write clean, efficient, tested, and well-documented code.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating backend applications and distributed systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency with AWS and Terraform.
• Experience owning systems end to end, from design and implementation through long-term production operation.
• Ability to collaborate across teams, influence priorities, and make architectural tradeoffs.
• Experience mentoring others, conducting code reviews, or improving engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, or DynamoDB.
• Experience developing CI/CD or internal developer platforms used by engineers or agents.
• Open-source contribution experience.
• Experience optimizing build systems, caching, artifact storage, or dependency management at scale.
