TL;DR
Senior FPGA Engineer (Electronic Warfare): Designing and validating complex digital hardware and FPGA-based systems for defense, communications, sensing, and electronic warfare with an accent on HDL design, simulation, integration, and verification. Focus on developing FPGA architectures, analyzing experimental data, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering work, and guiding engineers and technicians.

Location: Sunrise, Florida, United States; onsite. U.S. person status is required under ITAR/EAR, and U.S. citizenship may be required for some government contracts.

Salary: $91,000–$138,750 per year

What you will do

  • Design complex digital hardware and FPGA-based systems for electronic warfare, communications, sensing, and defense applications.
  • Take system concepts through architecture, design, simulation, implementation, integration, and verification.
  • Prepare requirements, design specifications, test plans, technical reports, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Design experiments, analyze data, and validate system and component performance.
  • Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, DSP, software, systems, and test engineers throughout product development.
  • Coordinate engineering work and direct engineers, technicians, and administrative staff while contributing to technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant digital design or FPGA engineering experience, or a master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital design, simulation, and hardware description languages, preferably VHDL.
  • Experience with FPGA devices from Xilinx and Altera/Intel, testbenches, automation, debugging, and synthesis/build scripting.
  • Working knowledge of software-defined radios, FPGA/ASIC design, digital and analog circuits, networking, and basic C/C++ programming.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be eligible for an export license.
  • Must be willing to work on government contracts and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Subject-matter expertise in at least one relevant digital hardware or FPGA specialization.
  • Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WiMAX, GMR, or other physical-layer technologies.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and technicians or leading technical work packages.
