Senior Financial Accountant (Fintech/Lending) - 6 Month Contract

Location: London, hybrid — 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home

Salary: £500–£600 per day via umbrella, depending on experience

What you will do

• Own statutory accounts and the year-end audit process.
• Act as the key finance contact for external auditors and resolve audit queries.
• Oversee financial controls, month-end close, and balance sheet integrity.
• Provide technical accounting input across lending and financing arrangements.
• Support regulatory and financial reporting, funding, capital, and wider strategic initiatives.
• Lead and develop the existing finance team while improving the efficiency and scalability of the finance function.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant required; ACA preferred.
• Background in banking, lending, or specialist financial services.
• Strong statutory accounting and external audit experience.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge, ideally including financial instruments and lending structures.
• Experience operating in a regulated environment and taking ownership of financial controls and reporting.
• Experience managing finance professionals and working independently with senior stakeholders and external advisers.
