Deputy MLRO (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage the full merchant risk lifecycle, including onboarding due diligence, ongoing monitoring, enhanced due diligence reviews, escalations, and remediation.
• Prepare responses to Visa and Mastercard compliance requests, including VIRP, BRAM, TLD, and merchant monitoring cases.
• Analyze complex merchant cases involving MCC accuracy, transaction laundering, website and traffic analysis, and business model validation.
• Draft defensible arguments and remediation plans for payment schemes, sponsor banks, and commercial partners.
• Act as deputy to the MLRO on financial crime and AML matters, including SAR reviews, sanctions, PEP handling, and transaction monitoring oversight.
• Support merchant onboarding and underwriting with a balanced, risk-based approach.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in acquiring risk, AML, financial crime, and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of the UK regulatory framework and FCA regime.
• Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard scheme rules and experience handling IPS enhanced due diligence and compliance requests.
• Deep understanding of MCC classification, transaction laundering typologies, and high-risk business models.
• Ability to independently analyze complex merchant cases and draft remediation plans.
• English and Russian language skills are required. Fintech experience is required.
