Delaware Courts Reporter (Legal Journalism)

Location: Delaware; must report to Wilmington, Delaware daily. Periodic travel between courthouses is required, including transportation arranged by the reporter or use of a personal vehicle.

What you will do

• Cover business law developments in Delaware Chancery, Supreme, Superior, District, and Bankruptcy Courts.
• Track cases in assigned courts and attend selected court events.
• File daily news stories from court under deadline pressure.
• Communicate with editors about coverage and story development.
• Travel between courthouses and cover hearings or developments outside standard business hours when needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of full-time, paid reporting experience.
• Some court reporting or similar experience.
• Strong reporting, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience writing under deadline pressure.
• Ability to report to Wilmington, Delaware daily and travel based on business needs.
• Flexibility to cover court hearings and developments outside standard business hours.
