What you will do
- Maintain accurate accounting records and transactions in line with GAAP and organizational standards.
- Support monthly close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and investigation of reporting discrepancies.
- Assist with Kazakhstan VAT, tax-related activities, statutory accounting, and primary document processing.
- Collaborate with HR, internal stakeholders, external partners, and regional entities on accounting operations.
- Drive process optimization and support the transition of selected accounting activities from external providers to in-house teams.
- Contribute to financial statement reviews and special finance projects across the region.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar position.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience, with formal accounting qualifications and strong accounting fundamentals.
- Experience with statutory accounting and tax activities, including VAT requirements in Kazakhstan.
- Working knowledge of SAP and experience with 1C accounting software.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; applications must be submitted in English.
- Strong accuracy, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills.
Nice to have
- Experience progressing toward a finance leadership or supervisory role.
- Exposure to regional accounting operations across multiple legal entities.
- Experience with external audit or consulting firms.
- Knowledge of Russian financial statements and regional statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience in process improvement, automation, finance transformation, or supporting senior finance and tax professionals.
