Accounting Lead (1C)

Location: Onsite in Almaty, Kazakhstan

What you will do

• Lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely transaction recording in 1C.
• Coordinate month-end closing, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, trial balance reviews, and financial reporting.
• Supervise AP, AR, payment, expense, revenue, fixed asset, inventory, and driver-related accounting activities.
• Ensure accounting compliance with Kazakhstan standards, tax regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
• Improve accounting procedures, automate workflows, enhance 1C processes, and coordinate system integrations.
• Supervise Accounting Specialists, allocate work, review deliverables, provide coaching, and coordinate with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Operations, Procurement, HR, IT, Data, and headquarters teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an operational, platform, logistics, retail, FMCG, or multinational environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with 1C and solid knowledge of accounting principles, month-end closing, journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting.
• Practical knowledge of Kazakhstan accounting and tax requirements.
• Experience with workpapers, trial balances, financial statements, management reports, Excel, data analysis, and ERP or accounting systems.
• English proficiency is required; Russian and/or Kazakh proficiency is preferred. Team supervision, process improvement, automation, and high-volume transaction experience are advantages.
