TL;DR
FPGA Design and Verification Engineer (FPGA): Designing, integrating, and validating complex FPGA modules for control, communications, and digital signal processing systems with an accent on RTL design, vendor IP integration, and verification strategy. Focus on developing simulation, emulation, and hardware test tools, managing requirements traceability, and executing component-, module-, and system-level integration.

Location: Wilton, Connecticut, United States; onsite presence required with remote work available up to two days per week. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

What you will do

  • Define FPGA architectures, module interfaces, detailed designs, timing constraints, synthesis, place-and-route flows, and power utilization.
  • Develop RTL and integrate custom logic with hard and soft vendor IP for control, communications, and digital signal processing platforms.
  • Plan and execute FPGA validation and verification strategies, including simulation, emulation, component testing, and system-level integration.
  • Develop product-specific test tooling and document specifications, design decisions, procedures, and test reports.
  • Manage requirements traceability, verification criteria, technical risks, dependencies, and engineering deliverables across the product life cycle.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, PCB designers, software teams, suppliers, and other cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; a master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • At least four years of relevant experience.
  • Strong FPGA design and verification expertise, including VHDL, SystemVerilog, UVM or OSVVM, RTL design, simulation, and implementation.
  • Experience with FPGA SoC architectures, Avalon and AXI interfaces, embedded processors such as NIOS, and IP block integration.
  • Experience with tools such as Questa Sim or ModelSim, Quartus, Git, JIRA, MATLAB or Simulink, Python, LabVIEW, and electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Must work onsite in Wilton, Connecticut, with remote work permitted up to two days per week; access to controlled US technology must be legally authorized before starting.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Altera High Level Synthesis and Mentor CDC.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of signal-processing algorithms.
