HSE Site Coordinator (AI Infrastructure): Maintaining health, safety, and environmental compliance at a high-voltage data center site with an accent on risk management, audits, incident investigation, and safety training. Focus on identifying and remediating physical hazards, enforcing LOTO and emergency procedures, and aligning site operations with Norwegian regulations and ISO standards.

Location: On-site in Glomfjord, Norway; occasional travel to other locations, project sites, training courses, audits, or meetings may be required.

Company

Nscale builds sustainable, high-performance data centers and GPU infrastructure for sovereign generative AI solutions across Europe and beyond.

What you will do

  • Champion and enforce a zero-harm safety culture across the Glomfjord site.
  • Monitor compliance with Norwegian health, safety, and environmental legislation, including the Working Environment Act, FSE, and ISO 45001 and 14001 standards.
  • Conduct site safety walks, hazard identification, HSE audits, and remediation of non-compliant solutions and physical risks.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, non-conformities, deviations, and environmental events; support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety inductions and emergency response training, verify LOTO governance, and maintain accurate records in EcoOnline EHS.
  • Monitor waste management, energy metrics, and sustainable site operations in line with municipal requirements and ESG goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in HSE coordination, safety management, or a related role, ideally in heavy industry, data centers, oil and gas, construction, power generation, or maritime environments.
  • Degree or professional certification in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related technical field; NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent credentials are relevant.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, industrial environmental laws, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience with digital EHS systems for incident reporting, risk assessments, inspections, audits, and corrective action tracking.
  • Fluent Norwegian is required, along with strong local-language communication for community and regulatory relations. English is required to a decent standard.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Glomfjord, with the ability to communicate directly and constructively about non-compliance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with EcoOnline EHS; training is available for the right candidate.
  • Fire Marshal, First Aid, Mental Health, or 40-hour HSE qualifications.
  • Experience in high-voltage, mission-critical, or data center environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Opportunity to support sustainable AI infrastructure and high-performance data center operations.
  • Training and professional development are provided where desirable experience or qualifications are not essential.
  • Collaboration with site managers, engineers, local technicians, international specialists, contractors, community stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Primarily site-based work with occasional travel for business support, training, audits, and meetings.
