Staff Relations Manager (Japanese Speaking)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; the role supports Japan and may be based in Malaysia or Japan.

What you will do

• Conduct or direct thorough, timely, impartial, and confidential HR investigations in Japan and the JAPAC region.
• Prepare investigation plans, records, summaries, and clear findings for HR, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders.
• Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary action, workplace accommodations, conflict, and difficult conversations.
• Partner with local HR Business Partners and key stakeholders at hirify.global Japan on employee-relations matters.
• Support corrective counseling, termination discussions, case tracking, leadership updates, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
• Help create and deliver training on HR policies and reporting suspected policy violations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above and at least five years of investigations or employee-relations experience.
• Knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and HR business practices.
• Fluency in Japanese and English across written, spoken, reading, and comprehension skills is required.
• Experience with unions or labor relations, difficult conversations, non-confrontational interviews, and cross-cultural work.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, project-management, prioritization, and communication skills.
• High integrity, sound judgment, independence, and the ability to maintain confidential information.
