Scientist – Purification Development & Viral Clearance

Location: Fully site-based in Slough, United Kingdom. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Plan and execute laboratory experiments across purification development and viral clearance.
• Apply chromatography, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, column packing, virus reduction filtration, stability studies, and high-throughput screening.
• Deliver project activities safely, accurately, and within agreed quality standards and timelines.
• Organise and critically analyse experimental data to identify issues and support evidence-based decisions.
• Design experiments and prepare sampling plans, protocols, reports, standard operating procedures, and study documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, customers, external partners, and vendors; present findings and support continuous improvement, training, and mentoring.

Requirements

• BSc or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific or technical discipline.
• Practical experience with laboratory-based experimental work and strong safety and quality standards.
• Interest in or experience with purification development, viral clearance, or related bioprocessing activities.
• Strong data organisation, analysis, problem-solving, planning, and prioritisation skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including presenting scientific data to colleagues, customers, and external partners.
• Collaborative, continuous-improvement mindset with willingness to learn and develop subject matter expertise.
