Business Information Analyst

Location: Menara Skymind office, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia; in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely on other days

What you will do

• Own data and reporting processes for key business tools, including research planning and consulting tracking.
• Document new datasets and data sources and ensure accurate, timely reporting and analysis.
• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities.
• Gather stakeholder requirements, translate them into technical requirements, and present findings and recommendations.
• Develop high-quality dashboards and data visualisations that help users focus on relevant details.
• Create automated business processes, support team members, and train end users on systems and platforms.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in analytical roles.
• Proficiency in data analysis and handling large, complex datasets, including common data quality challenges.
• Hands-on experience with Python or R and the ability to build end-to-end analytical workflows.
• Experience with requirements gathering, analytical workflow design, resource planning, timeline management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in data analysis, data science, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, mathematical ability, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• SQL, Microsoft Office, Salesforce data, and Tableau or a similar visualisation tool.
• Research experience focused on industry trends and strategic issues.
• Experience presenting to internal stakeholders and working with cloud-based analytical platforms.
• Interest in developing data science skills in Python.
