TL;DR
Software Developer, Integrations (Calgary) (Python/Go, Data Platforms): Building and optimizing integration platforms, APIs, workflows, and data ingestion for HRIS, ATS, payroll, and other systems with an accent on scalable data flows, authentication, schema changes, and actionable sync errors. Focus on designing distributed integration architectures, handling high-volume datasets and partial failures, and improving customer-facing data connection workflows.
Location: Remote-first within commuting distance of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; candidates must be based in Calgary and legally authorized to work in Alberta without additional visa support.
Salary: CAD 125,000–148,000 per year

What you will do
- Build, maintain, and optimize integration platforms, connectors, APIs, and data ingestion workflows.
- Integrate HRIS, ATS, payroll, CRM, ERP, and other third-party systems while handling authentication, pagination, rate limits, schema changes, and partial failures.
- Design reliable data pipelines with scheduling, retries, sequencing, monitoring, and clear error reporting.
- Improve refresh performance for datasets containing hundreds of thousands of employees across many sources.
- Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering, Implementation, Customer Success, and engineering teams to expand the implementation platform.
- Establish integration patterns, documentation, governance standards, and error-handling conventions across a distributed system.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software with solid backend fundamentals.
- Production experience with third-party API integrations, including REST or SOAP, webhooks, OAuth, API keys, pagination, rate limiting, and upstream schema changes.
- Experience with data pipelines, workflow orchestration, monitoring, retries, and cross-system transformations.
- Strong SQL skills and the ability to reason about data models and transformations.
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, CRM, or ERP systems and their data models.
- Strong documentation, collaboration, and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice to have
- Python or Go experience, plus frontend experience with TypeScript, React, or an equivalent technology.
- Experience with iPaaS tools such as Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Tray.io, or Celigo.
- Experience with Temporal, Airflow, SFTP, CSV, flat-file ingestion, and validation at scale.
- Experience handling sensitive employee or compensation data and applying security and privacy practices.
