Software Engineer - Infrastructure

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, measure, and maintain production services with end-to-end ownership.
• Build and evolve core framework code for a large-scale real-time recommendation system.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and logging to detect and resolve performance issues proactively.
• Develop infrastructure for high-throughput workloads, including cluster management, Kafka consumers, metrics pipelines, and authentication services.
• Use Gen-AI tools to accelerate development across the research and development organization.
• Collaborate with software engineers and multiple teams on complex infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

• 5+ years of programming experience in Java or an equivalent object-oriented language.
• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems and understanding production system infrastructure.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, and concurrent or multithreaded programming.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and high proficiency in Linux.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data tools.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data mining, and machine learning.
