Principal Robotics Systems Engineer (Medical Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering for a complex surgical robotic platform across the full product lifecycle.
• Define system architecture, interfaces, and traceable system and subsystem requirements.
• Integrate hardware, embedded and application software, controls, sensing, actuation, and user interaction.
• Lead system-level risk management, design controls, verification strategies, design reviews, and regulatory submission activities.
• Drive collaboration across electrical, software, controls, mechanical, clinical, quality, manufacturing, and V&V teams.
• Support reliability engineering, design transfer, product launch, post-market surveillance, and investigation of failures and nonconformances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in systems engineering, software engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of multidisciplinary systems engineering experience, including 5+ years with surgical robotic systems or complex multidisciplinary medical devices.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware and software testing, electromechanical systems, and product development lifecycles.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
• Ability to apply systems engineering, statistical analysis, technical writing, and cross-functional decision-making in a safety-critical environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices.
• CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, UML, SAP Product Lifecycle Management, or software quality assurance.
