QA Automation / SDET (Fintech)

Location: Fully remote from anywhere in the world, with a flexible schedule.

Salary: $6,000 per month before taxes.

Proprietary algorithmic trading firm developing and operating technology for crypto and traditional exchanges across multiple asset classes and high- and medium-frequency trading strategies.

What you will do

• Design and write end-to-end automated tests for trading logic using Kotlin, JUnit 5, Gradle, gRPC, and ClickHouse.
• Test REST, WebSocket, FIX, and binary SBE exchange protocols against real trading environments.
• Investigate incidents and test failures across logs, analytical data, Rust platform code, and exchange behavior.
• Validate releases, triage large-scale test runs across dozens of exchanges, report evidence-based bugs, and stabilize flaky tests.
• Build and maintain test infrastructure, fault-injection tooling, Python trading bots, Kotlin services, CI pipelines, and test environments.
• Track automation metrics and use them to guide quality decisions.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in test automation or backend development with Kotlin, Java, or another strongly typed language, with willingness to move to Kotlin.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with analytical databases at scale; ClickHouse experience is advantageous.
• Practical understanding of REST and WebSocket protocols, with the ability to read raw messages.
• Experience with gRPC/protobuf, Docker, GitLab CI or Jenkins, Linux administration, deployment, networking, and SSH diagnostics.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or similar systems.
• Daily use of agentic AI tools, including task delegation, prompt and skill creation, MCP integrations, and critical evaluation of model output.

Nice to have

• Experience in trading, exchange integrations, fintech, or market microstructure.
• Rust experience or willingness to learn Rust, plus Python for test bots and scripting.
• Experience with traffic interception and mocking tools such as Ktor, Netty, mitmproxy, or WireMock.
• Experience with Ansible, test-environment maintenance, or multi-agent systems.
