C++ Developer (Navigation)

Location: Finland; hybrid and remote options are available where applicable.

What you will do

• Build and maintain a unified C++17 library for iOS, Android, and low-power automotive hardware.
• Improve map-matching and dead-reckoning algorithms using real-world vehicle data.
• Implement route progress reporting, deviation detection, and navigation instruction delivery.
• Develop road object matching, live traffic incident features, predictive caching, junction views, and signpost management.
• Extend the Valhalla routing engine for offline routing and route refresh controllers.
• Use AI tools thoughtfully in design and development to improve efficiency and code quality.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience with C++17 or later, including the language specification, memory management, standard library, and multithreading.
• Ability to write clean, fast, portable code under strict CPU and memory constraints.
• Experience with complex graph structures, data structures, and spatial algorithms.
• Experience developing cross-platform code for Linux, mobile, or embedded systems.
• Strong English skills for explaining technical trade-offs to peers and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of navigation concepts such as dead reckoning, bearing, Electronic Horizon, or OpenLR.
• Experience with IMU, OBD-II, or GNSS data.
• Background in computational geometry or safety-critical ADAS features.
• Experience with or contributions to open-source routing engines.
