Senior Software Engineer (Observability/Go): Building high-performing backend ingestion pipelines and managed input services for observability data across cloud providers with an accent on scalability, reliability, security, and distributed systems. Focus on designing mOTLP endpoints and agentless integrations, processing telemetry at scale, monitoring SLIs and SLOs, and operating services through on-call support.
Location: Portugal
Salary: €55,800–€88,300 EUR per year; base salary with no variable compensation.

What you will do
- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain scalable backend features for Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations across three major cloud providers.
- Build and operate ingestion pipelines for telemetry from Agents, OpenTelemetry collectors, agentless environments, and cloud sources.
- Own projects and features from concept through delivery.
- Provide engineering support for escalated customer cases and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
- Monitor alerts, build SLIs and SLOs, and maintain service stability and reliable deployment mechanisms.
- Review pull requests, mentor peers, and collaborate across a globally distributed team.
Requirements
- Intermediate to expert Go skills with strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis abilities.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform-based infrastructure as code, and Kafka.
- Intermediate experience with observability, including tracing, metrics, logs, and profiling.
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems, including system design tradeoffs.
- Experience with or interest in OpenTelemetry and demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to work autonomously, make decisions, and communicate asynchronously in a distributed team.
Nice to have
- Experience designing high-availability services that ingest terabytes of data per day.
- Experience as an operational responder or incident commander.
- Experience with search or Kibana.
- Open-source development or community contribution experience.
- Experience working in fully remote teams.
