Senior Backend Software Engineer (Gaming)

Location: On-site in Baku, Serbia, or Canada

hirify.global provides commerce, distribution, marketing, funding, and monetization tools for video game developers, serving companies from indie studios to AAA publishers.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for core products and platforms.
• Develop event-driven systems with Go, Kafka, and Temporal or similar orchestration tools.
• Build scalable microservices in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Drive architecture decisions focused on performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
• Monitor, debug, and improve production service performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and QA teams on end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Go or a similar language.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka or an equivalent streaming platform.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-based communication.
• Experience with Temporal, Cadence, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze system behavior, and drive resolutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse, Postgres, or other analytical and transactional databases.
• Background in gaming, payments, commerce systems, internal platforms, or developer-facing tools.
