Software Intern (Infrastructure)

Location: On-site five days per week at the Torrance headquarters in Los Angeles, California, United States. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not considered.

Compensation: $36 per hour. Interns receive a relocation and housing stipend.

What you will do

• Improve cloud deployment tooling for shared internal applications.
• Automate integrations between internal and external systems.
• Create Grafana dashboards and alerts for system visibility and cluster usage.
• Build standardized Python data-project templates covering deployment, monitoring, and dependency management.
• Migrate cluster infrastructure to current versions of Rocky Linux and Warewulf.
• Build storage and compute-resource tooling while optimizing recovery, performance, and cloud costs.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in at least a bachelor's degree program and entering the junior or senior year.
• Prior internship experience or more than one year of significant project-team, laboratory, or research experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, adapt to changing requirements, and take initiative.
• Must work on-site five days per week in Torrance, California.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under export regulations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Experience in a university club, organization, or leadership role.
