Backend Developer (PHP)

Location: Remote, based in Tbilisi

What you will do

• Develop and maintain PHP backend systems for e-commerce projects and complex corporate portals.
• Design backend architecture, make technical decisions, and select platforms and technologies based on client requirements.
• Build and maintain integrations with payment services, CRM/ERP/1C systems, marketplaces, and delivery providers.
• Design and implement REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and system-to-system integrations.
• Own the backend lifecycle from architecture and development through launch and ongoing support.
• Estimate technical tasks, identify risks, propose implementation approaches, and communicate with clients in English.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.x, object-oriented programming, and SOLID principles.
• Commercial experience with Laravel and/or Symfony, including custom portals and integration solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce and WordPress / WooCommerce.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, external system integrations, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with PrestaShop, OpenCart, Shopify, or 1C-Bitrix.
• Experience with high-load e-commerce projects and headless or composable commerce architectures.
