Golang/Kubernetes Engineer (AI) (Go/Kubernetes): Leading development of the ArangoDB Kubernetes Operator for lifecycle management, scaling, backup, replication, and reliable operation of stateful database systems with an accent on distributed systems, storage, and cloud infrastructure. Focus on designing operator architecture, supporting high availability and production stability, troubleshooting complex Kubernetes issues, and extending the solution into AWS GovCloud.
Location: Remote, USA only; U.S. citizenship required

What you will do
- Lead the design and development of the DB Kubernetes Operator.
- Own operator architecture and implement lifecycle management, scaling, backup, and replication features.
- Ensure high availability, performance, stability, upgrades, and migrations for DB on Kubernetes.
- Define best practices for running stateful systems and distributed databases on Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot complex Kubernetes and distributed-systems issues and collaborate on enterprise and cloud requirements.
- Support extending the solution into AWS GovCloud.
Requirements
- 4+ years of programming and cloud experience.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, CRDs, operators, deployments, and custom resources.
- Strong Go experience with knowledge of concurrency, storage, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS and production-grade stateful systems, including persistent volumes, snapshots, backups, failover, replication, and cluster scaling.
- Operational experience with observability, metrics, automation, cluster lifecycle management, and storage performance tuning.
- U.S. citizenship is required; an active security clearance is preferred.
