AI-Augmented QA Engineer

Location: Remote from South Africa; working hours: U.S. Business Hours

Early-stage security platform building a fast-moving product with dashboards, detection workflows, device management, permissions, and settings.

What you will do

• Write and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Playwright or a similar framework.
• Expand coverage for critical product workflows and build regression tests that run on every pull request.
• Own test-suite reliability, CI execution, test data, seed data, and staging-environment stability.
• Diagnose flaky tests and maintain clean, scalable test architecture as the product grows.
• Use Claude and other AI-assisted browser automation tools to explore edge cases and uncover bugs.
• Collaborate directly with frontend and backend engineers on testing requirements, failures, bugs, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of QA, software testing, or test automation experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered with strong automation skills.
• Strong TypeScript skills and the ability to write clean, maintainable test code.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or a similar end-to-end testing framework.
• Understanding of DOM interaction, network requests, asynchronous behavior, regression testing, and flaky-test troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of testing goals, and communicate issues clearly.
• Willingness to use AI tools in daily testing workflows, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience building end-to-end testing infrastructure and integrating automated tests into CI pipelines.
• Experience with test data management, parallelization, test reporting, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience testing complex B2B, multi-tenant, or role-based-access applications.
• Experience with React applications, Claude or other AI/LLM-based tools, Sentry, GCP Stackdriver, or similar observability platforms.
