Company
develops mission-critical technologies for space, defense, and national security applications.
What you will do
- Design, develop, integrate, and support liquid propulsion systems, components, and subsystems from concept through qualification, production, and fielded operation.
- Perform propulsion analyses and trade studies covering combustion, fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, pressure, loads, performance, and system sizing.
- Develop engineering models, calculations, drawings, specifications, interfaces, bills of materials, and configuration-controlled documentation.
- Support the design of combustion chambers, injectors, turbomachinery, valves, regulators, feed systems, tanks, manifolds, and pressurization systems.
- Support component, subsystem, qualification, acceptance, and hot-fire testing; analyze test data and investigate failures.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, test, suppliers, and program teams to resolve technical issues and improve propulsion hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, chemical, or a related engineering field with 4 years of relevant experience; a related master’s degree with 2 years of experience or 8 years of relevant experience may substitute.
- 4–10 years of professional experience in liquid propulsion, rocket propulsion, aerospace, defense, turbomachinery, fluid systems, or a related discipline.
- Experience designing, analyzing, developing, testing, or integrating propulsion systems or complex fluid and thermal systems.
- Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, pressure systems, fluid system design, and propulsion performance.
- Experience with engineering analyses, models, calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and hardware development or production troubleshooting.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required and meet U.S. person/export-control requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with cryogenic or storable propellants, pressure-fed or pump-fed architectures, injectors, combustion devices, turbopumps, valves, feed systems, or pressurization systems.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, CFD, FEA, NPSS, or similar engineering tools.
- Experience with aerospace or defense standards and qualification testing.
Culture & Benefits
