Quality Control Technician (Medical Devices)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States. Onsite role with up to 10% travel. Applicants must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop inspection sheets and first article inspection documentation for implants, instruments, and related components.
• Create overlays for optical comparators and write and route Engineering Change Orders.
• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements while supporting calibration and equipment traceability.
• Analyze and publish site quality metrics using SPC, Cp, Cpk, Pareto charts, control charts, and histograms.
• Manage nonconforming material and support MRB activities, audits, CAPA, and structured problem-solving.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in mechanical inspection techniques and inspection equipment.
• Effective computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft tools.
• Experience tracking tasks, actions, or projects through completion.
• Clear and professional written and verbal English communication.
• Full-time United States work authorization is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, especially medical devices.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and overlay creation and printing.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and collaborative working style.
