Content Producer, Nexstar Content Desk

Location: Irving, Texas, United States. Full-time newsroom position with occasional outdoor work and overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.

What you will do

• Monitor daily event schedules, breaking news, and developing stories.
• Identify, research, produce, write, edit, and distribute content for broadcast, digital, CTV, streaming, websites, apps, and social media.
• Route live feeds, ingest video, and distribute content to Nexstar stations and newsrooms.
• Edit news events, press conferences, interviews, video packages, VO/SOTs, and long-form content.
• Develop enterprise story ideas and pitch content relevant to local audiences.
• Coordinate with the Content Desk, local newsrooms, NewsNation, The Hill, and other Nexstar partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in broadcast or digital news.
• Strong writing, editing, communication, organization, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience with non-linear editing systems and digital news gathering tools such as OBS, vMix, and CMS platforms.
• Understanding of digital news production, headlines, SEO, social distribution, and audience engagement.
• Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in a collaborative newsroom, sit for extended periods, operate standard office and production equipment, and lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
