Senior Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Location: Remote France

Salary: €53,000–€71,000 EUR annually

What you will do

• Deliver features and architectural improvements across automated moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools, and DevHub.
• Build and operate production systems using Python/Django, MySQL, React/TypeScript, and asynchronous processing.
• Improve CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, testing, deployments, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Develop internal platforms and tools that help engineering teams ship and operate software safely and consistently.
• Establish engineering practices covering code review, production readiness, runbooks, recoverability, on-call operations, and documentation.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, engineers, and community contributors through iterative delivery and open-source practices.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Python and Django.
• Experience operating reliable production systems and improving CI/CD, declarative pipelines, infrastructure, integration testing, and progressive delivery.
• Strong understanding of observability, including metrics, logging, tracing, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
• Experience with internal engineering tools or platforms, operational practices, incident response, on-call expectations, and technical documentation.
• Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases and trace behavior across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
• Must be based in France for the remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud and Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, SLOs, and error-budget practices.
• Experience with chaos engineering, disaster recovery testing, production readiness reviews, trust and safety, automated moderation, or abuse prevention.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
